PART 1 — GENERAL
1.1SUMMARY

1.3PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A.Performance Class and Grade (NAFS): CW-PG50 minimum, at the sizes indicated on the Drawings, tested per AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440.
B.Structural (ASTM E330): Design wind pressure ±2,394 Pa (50.0 psf) (EN 12210 test pressure 2,400 Pa); no glass breakage, permanent deformation of main framing members or failure of anchors at 150 percent of design pressure.
C.Air Infiltration (ASTM E283): Maximum 0.30 cfm/ft² (1.5 L/s·m²) at 1.57 psf (75 Pa); equivalent to EN 12207 Class 4.
D.Water Penetration (ASTM E331 and ASTM E547): No uncontrolled water penetration at a static test pressure of 1,050 Pa (21.9 psf).
E.Thermal Transmittance (NFRC 100): Maximum U-factor 0.18 Btu/h·ft²·°F (1.00 W/m²K whole-unit Uw per EN ISO 10077-1 at the reference size), certified and labeled by an NFRC-accredited agency.
F.Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (NFRC 200): Maximum 0.43 whole-unit, based on glass g-value 0.50.
G.Condensation Resistance (NFRC 500 / AAMA 1503): CR or CRF not less than 55.
H.Acoustic Performance: Weighted sound reduction index Rw ≥ 45 dB (ISO 717-1); report STC and OITC per ASTM E90 and ASTM E1332.
I.Forced Entry Resistance: ASTM F588 Grade 40 minimum; burglar resistance RC2 to EN 1627 where indicated.
J.Impact Resistance (where indicated on the Drawings): Large and small missile impact and cyclic pressure per ASTM E1886 and ASTM E1996 for the wind zone of the Project.
K.Thermal Movements: Accommodate movement from an ambient temperature range of 120 °F (67 °C) and material surface temperature range of 180 °F (100 °C) without buckling, opening of joints, glass breakage or reduced performance.
1.4ACTION SUBMITTALS
A.Product Data: For each type, including construction details, material descriptions, profile dimensions, thermal-break details, hardware and finishes.
B.Shop Drawings: Plans, elevations, sections and full-size details of typical members, anchorage, flashing, perimeter conditions and glazing; include structural calculations stamped by the delegated engineer where required.
C.Samples: 12 in (300 mm) long sections of frame and sash in the specified finish (Anthracite RAL 7016), and hardware samples.
D.Glazing Schedule: Glass make-up, Ug, SHGC/g-value and safety glazing locations for each unit type.
1.5INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS
A.Product Test Reports: From an accredited independent laboratory, less than four years old, for each performance requirement; NFRC certification and labels.
B.Sample Warranties: For manufacturer's special warranties.
1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.Manufacturer Qualifications: A manufacturer with not less than 10 years of experience extruding, fabricating and finishing systems of the type specified, operating a quality system certified to ISO 9001.
B.Installer Qualifications: An installer trained and acknowledged by the manufacturer, with not less than five comparable completed projects.
C.Mock-ups: Build a field mock-up of a typical unit including perimeter seals, flashing and interior finish. Test the mock-up per the Field Quality Control article before proceeding; approved mock-ups may remain as part of the Work.
D.Preinstallation Conference: Conduct at Project site before installation of the mock-up.
1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A.Deliver units in the manufacturer's export crates with corner protection and protective film; store upright off the ground, under cover and ventilated. Do not remove protective film until final cleaning.
1.8WARRANTY
A.Manufacturer's Special Warranty: Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components that fail in materials or workmanship within 10 years from date of Substantial Completion, including structural failures, excessive deflection, water and air leakage, faulty operation and deterioration of metals and hardware beyond normal weathering.
B.Finish Warranty: 15 years against cracking, checking, peeling, chalking in excess of ASTM D4214 No. 8 and color change in excess of 5 ΔE units.
C.Insulating Glass Warranty: 10 years against seal failure, interpane dusting or misting.
PART 2 — PRODUCTS
2.1MANUFACTURERS

B.Substitutions: Comparable products of other manufacturers will be considered as an approved equal provided they meet every performance requirement of this Section, are supported by current independent test reports and are submitted in accordance with the Contract's substitution procedures.
2.2MATERIALS
A.Aluminum Extrusions: ASTM B221, alloy 6063-T6; minimum wall thickness 0.078 in (2.0 mm) at main frame and sash members.
B.Thermal Break: Glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide 6.6 (PA66 GF25) strips, mechanically rolled and crimped into extrusions; shear strength verified per AAMA TIR-A8 / AAMA 505.
C.Fasteners: Series 300 stainless steel, concealed where possible; isolate dissimilar metals.
D.Gaskets and Weatherstripping: EPDM to ASTM C864 / ASTM C1036 compatible; weatherstripping to AAMA 701/702; three-plane sealing at operable units.
2.3WINDOW UNITS
A.System: ARCVIEW ARC-C70 / C80 Thermal, casement & tilt-turn windows, frame depth 80 mm (3.15 in) (alternative depths 70 / 80 mm).
B.Maximum single panel: 1,400 mm (55.1 in) wide × 2,400 mm (94.5 in) high, 150 kg (331 lb).
C.Operation: Inward tilt-turn, outward casement, awning and fixed lights from one frame family, as indicated; concealed hinges where indicated.
2.4GLAZING
A.Insulating Glass Units: ASTM E2190 certified; make-up Triple 4/14/4/14/4 Low-E ×2, argon, nominal 40 mm (1.57 in); center-of-glass Ug 0.6 W/m²K (0.11 Btu/h·ft²·°F); g-value 0.50.
B.Spacer: Warm-edge stainless steel or polymer spacer with dual seal (polyisobutylene primary, silicone secondary for structurally glazed units).
C.Safety Glazing: Tempered or laminated glass where required by the building code and as indicated on the Drawings.
D.Glazing Method: Dry-glazed with EPDM gaskets and snap-in glazing beads, interior glazed; setting blocks and edge blocks per the glass manufacturer.
2.5HARDWARE
A.Hardware: Roto NT or Siegenia Titan tilt-turn gear; finish to match or as selected by the Architect.
B.Operating Force: Comply with the operating force limits of AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440 for the specified class.
2.6FINISHES
A.Powder Coat: Superdurable polyester powder coating to AAMA 2605 (Qualicoat Class 2) for exterior surfaces; chrome-free pretreatment; minimum 2.4 mil (60 µm) dry film thickness; color Anthracite RAL 7016.
B.Interior and exterior colors may differ where dual-color finish is indicated.
2.7FABRICATION
A.Fabricate units in the factory to the sizes indicated, with corners mechanically joined by crimped corner cleats, adhesive-injected and sealed; prepare for hardware; provide concealed drainage and weep baffles.
B.Fabrication Tolerances: ±1/32 in (±1 mm) on overall frame dimensions; diagonal difference not more than 1/16 in (1.5 mm).
C.Factory-glaze units where practical; label each unit with its schedule mark, NFRC label and safety-glazing marks.
2.8SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL
A.Provide a third-party pre-shipment inspection report covering dimensions, finish thickness, glazing and hardware operation for a random sample of not less than 5 percent of units.
PART 3 — EXECUTION
3.1EXAMINATION
A.Examine openings, substrates and structural supports for compliance with requirements, tolerances and flashing conditions. Proceed only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2INSTALLATION
A.Install in accordance with AAMA 2400 (or AAMA 2410 for non-flanged units) and the manufacturer's written instructions, plumb, level and true to line, without warp or rack, within 1/8 in in 10 ft (3 mm in 3 m).
B.Anchor securely using the manufacturer's anchorage system; separate aluminum from dissimilar metals and cementitious materials with isolating tape or coating.
C.Integrate with the air and water-resistive barrier; provide sill pan flashing with end dams and back dam; seal perimeter joints with backer rod and sealant per Section 07 92 00.
3.3FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A.Testing Agency: Owner will engage a qualified testing agency to perform field tests per AAMA 502.
1.Air infiltration: ASTM E783 at 1.5 times the laboratory air leakage rate specified.
2.Water penetration: ASTM E1105 at two-thirds of the specified laboratory water test pressure (700 Pa (14.6 psf)).
3.Test three units or 2 percent of units, whichever is greater; repair or replace failed units and retest at no additional cost to the Owner.
3.4ADJUSTING, CLEANING, AND PROTECTION
A.Adjust operating sashes, leaves and hardware for smooth operation and weathertight closure; lubricate per the manufacturer.
B.Clean aluminum and glass surfaces after installation using methods recommended by the manufacturer; remove protective film no later than 6 months after installation.
C.Protect installed units from damage by subsequent construction operations until Substantial Completion.
